Boring but busy

I spent the day typing information cards for the 53 quilts I have collected from people for the Storytelling Festival quilt display. It probably would have taken someone who knows how to type a few hours...sigh.
Then, I measured all the quilts and made ID tags for them so the hanging people will be able to identify them. Wouldn't you know, when I thought I was done, an email came with four more entries! Yikes! This has turned into a bonafide quilt show! Hopefully, everything will go smoothly and all will be lovely.

Quilts, quilts, quilts!!!

More quilts!
Not all the quilts will be picked up by or brought to me. The people running the storytelling part have also entered quilts that I haven't seen and don't know what size they are. Set up will sure be an adventure!
Mr Wazoo stayed inside today even though the sun was shining and the temperature was perfect. He said he wants to go to South Carolina and visit his Mom tomorrow, because we'll be away for a while and she expects him every other Wednesday. I'll still be busy with show prep, so I don't mind staying home with Molly. Here is one of the quilts he quilted today.

Cool graphic quilt

Panto: Basketweave

The stars glow in the dark!! I took the quilt in the studio bathroom and turned the light off to ooh and aah at them .
Tomorrow morning I meet with my set up guy to plan the layout for the quilts. On Thursday, we get the show up and then the next two days we watch the quilts, answer questions and man a table with  colorful cardstock pieces for kids to make quilt blocks with. Saturday night, it all comes down. Thankfully, my set up guy is taking over for me as far as getting the quilts back to the donors. I'll only have a couple of days to prepare for Paducah. Yippee!

The flurries begin!

I don't mean snow flurries...I mean quilting flurries! Today was the final block of the month class, and I was happy to see some finished and almost finished tops! One was sandwiched and partially quilted!  Yowza! Here are the ladies, and their quilts.

Yup! Mine is done but for the binding!

Panto: Diamond Spiral

Cindy Did her quilt in Southwestern colors. She even cut the sashing with arrow print so they are all going the same direction! You go, girl!

Nancy's blocks are finished, and she is ready to join them together.
I love the blue palette. Very soothing.

Pam's quilt is scrappy and just sparkles.

Joanne finished her blocks, and the result is stunning. It reminds me of Florida. The color combination is perfect.
Mr Wazoo has been quilting half days lately because the weather has been decent. He is getting everything planted or mulched in preparation for us going away for a while. He has been doing smaller projects in the Man Cave,

He still can't take a decent picture...
It is a pretty baby quilt by a newbie quilter.

Panto: Daisy swirl

Far away, but better. Cute four patch scrappy quilt

Panto: Popcorn

I was in the studio making the first of the two queen sized tee shirt quilts. It needs the side sashing, and borders. Its a work in progress.

Maybe tomorrow... if I get all the quilts for the storytelling festival logged in and organized.
Gotta go to bed. More 'flurries' tomorrow!!

Working toward a goal

Tick, tick, tick...time is passing quickly here at Wazoo, and we are trying to get as much work done as possible before taking off for a much needed vacation. The weather is keeping Mr Wazoo's nose to the grindstone, being too cold and rainy to work in the yard. Sometimes bad weather is a good thing!
We have both been doing customer projects, reducing the load and preparing for a two week hiatus. Here are a few of the quilts that are out the door from the last few days.

We love tee shirt quilts! Happy memories stitched with love by Mamas and Grandmas.

This one has photos, too. Very special to the recipient!
Panto: Dazzle

The backing is primarily this pretty horse print.

I was charged with quilting a couple of Comfort quilts for guild members who are having a tough time. They are all so cheerful and made with soothing colors.

I use the digital panto: Flower Power for these.

The backing is from my stash.
Wow! This eye popping quilt is my favorite of the week!
Panto: Yodel

Great backing, too!

Another comfort quilt. I love the fabrics in this one.

Same panto: Flower Power

Pretty yellow flowers on the back.

This was a 'hurry-up' project. The customer is leaving tomorrow, and needed it done quickly.

It is for her Mom, and I used the panto: Beauty, for the quilting

Gorgeous backing!
My Block of the Month class finishes up on Monday, so I spent some time getting my quilt top assembled and ready for the big reveal. At this point, I will be there for support, hoping someone in the group will finish their quilt, too.

My top is finished, and just needs some quilting!

I used two fabrics for sashing; one is red with letters on it, and the other is black with small red cherries. The inner border is this red and white stripe, and the final border, (my favorite fabric), big cherries and white dots. I'll try to get it quilted and bound later today.

The last task of the day was loading this king sized quilt top  made from African fabrics. It will be custom quilted with African motifs in the 196 black squares. That should take a few minutes...ha ha ha. The customer's vision is clear, and I will do my best to carry it out. Most of it will be done after we get home from Texas.

Beautiful...and huge!
It is another gray, chilly day, so I think we'll get a lot of work done. I'll be in the studio, doing what makes me happy. Quilting!
