Just another day...with another bear!

We both worked in the studio most of the day. I got the ditch stitching done and sewed around all the appliqué bits on this beautiful Piece o'Cake quilt. I marveled more than once to Tim how perfect the appliqué stitch is as well as the sharp points and smooth curves. I wish my hand work was this nice! Tomorrow, the quilting starts in earnest. I am stoked to do this quilt. I love the Piece o'Cake pattern style.

Tim quilted this cute Christmas project with bright green Minky on the back.

He also did these pillow sham fronts before going to the doctor for his yearly physical.

It was a glorious evening, and Tim spent some quality time on the deck, admiring his wonderful garden and yard. He grilled our supper, and went to bed happy.

Oh yes...we finally got the trail camera and put it out yesterday afternoon. Last night, we had a picture snapped of a bear just in front of the lens. Tonight, it is in a different position to hopefully get a better photo. Fingers crossed!!

North Carolina done and going home!

I finished the North Carolina quilt in three days; not bad for a large quilt with all different blocks. It turned out really nice, and I'm sure the quilt maker will be pleased. Excuse the photo heavy post, but it is worth it.

The trail camera finally came, and we put it up this afternoon. The first couple of days will be experimental, trying to get the best view of the back yard and surrounding woods. Stay tuned to see what develops! HA! I made a joke there...

A quick update

It really is past my bedtime, but I thought I would ad a couple of photos before retiring for the night.
I have done the stitch in the ditch on a customer show quilt highlighting places and things from North Carolina. It should be a fun challenge to quilt. I start the quilting tomorrow!
.

After work today, I put together this attic window quilt top from a panel. I was given the panel by the leader of my charity sewing group and asked if I could figure out something to do with it. There were two of the same panel donated. The second quilt will not be this intricate..

Labor Day labor

We took the day off from customer work...sort of, and had some fun yesterday. Tim worked in the yard (I know this sounds tedious, but it really is where you will find him on any given day) and also put up some hooks in the garage for his yard tools. I sewed!
From the back porch. Here is where the bear made his debut!

Hmmmm...not strange flowers, but marking where Tim is putting the fire pit
One of my guilds has a challenge going, and I made the quilt for that. I will show it here after the meeting later in the month. They have a vote for the quilt you like best, and I want to win the prize...a $25 gift certificate to the quilt shop! The fabric for the challenge is a yellow ground with little stars. Here is a teaser from the quilt.

After finishing the challenge quilt, I made a charity quilt, quilted it and put on the binding. I will do the hand sewing tonight, since last night was spent sewing down the binding on the big customer quilt.
I was remiss in posting for a couple of days, so here are the projects we finished. Have a wonderful day, and keep on quilting!

The customer wanted custom quilting on this quilt. I on't question...I just do it!
