What did you do today, Susan?

What did I do today?... My customer came early on to pick up the ginormous finished wedding quilt. She was thrilled, and so was her husband. I stayed up pretty late doing the hand sewing, but I'm glad to have it finished and gone to its new home. I spent the rest of the day quilting the charity tops I made last weekend while listening to the news from France. So very sad... the world is a mess right now. We all need to hold each other up.

Tumbler quilt, quilted and binding on.

Another dragonfly quilt. This is the one without faces.

I made this dragonfly quilt. You may remember the blocks from a couple of weeks ago. A good Sunday project!

I added binding of the same green as the back.
Mr Wazoo quilted a French braid quilt. He went on and on about how perfect and wonderful it was. He even took a picture of how straight the bottom was! I think I should make one for him...
He's right! This quilt is perfectly straight, square and flat! Good job Meliss!

He photographed it sideways, but it is beautiful anyway.
It is a wedding present.

Mr W spent the remainder of the day outside. We had a nice rain that cooled things off for a while, so he was happy. I loaded and started quilting on a project I made at the Blue Ridge guild retreat. I'll finish it up tomorrow, then back to customer work. Right now, I'm watching PBS and hand sewing bindings.

Workday Wednesday

We quilted all day yesterday, and finished six quilts between us! I'm just going to show you loads of pictures of the finished Christmas quilt, and tell you the photos don't do it justice. It is stunning!

Doesn't the back look cool?!

Mr Wazoo got three baby quilts done for the same customer. Here are two of them. The other one is waiting for it's close-up.

Panto: Modern Twist

Panto: Popcorn
While I was waiting for a customer who was bringing a king sized quilt, I quilted up this charity quilt. Its one of three I made for my Blue Ridge guild.

I did a free motion swirly flower pattern

Wide shirting from Amish country on the back.
The customer came, and I finished this giant at 6:30! Good thing Mr W was grilling our supper...my part was easy; potatoes and green beans in white sauce and a sliced avocado. Yum.

I had to go to the opposite wall of the studio to get it all in!

The customer made this as a wedding gift. She designed it and added Bible verses and photos of the couple. The blank center square is for the wedding photo, to be added later.

So huge, it almost touches the floor on both sides of the table!

She also hand dyed the fabric for the verses.

Panto: Featherize

I will be spending more quality time with the quilt adding and hand sewing the binding.
I thought I would add a few yard photos, since the black-eyed Susans are blooming!

English garden is shaping up!

Making headway

Just a short post. I worked all day on the Christmas quilt, and am making progress. The center is finished and the borders are 3/4 done, too! Tomorrow, I should be able to get it totally finished. Yippee!! Its a fun one.

Marked...

Quilted!

The quilting never shows up well on the flat surface. Wait until I get it off the machine.
It will blow your mind!

Another Sunday Fun-day!

I take my day off fairly seriously, so today, I had fun!
Maryann gave me some tumbler blocks, so I played with them for a while and made a little quilt top for charity.
I only had a small amount of the blue dot fabric I wanted for the sashing, so I didn't sash every row.

Sashing completed, now, I need a border

After auditioning reds, blues and greens; I settled on this yellow print.

Just needs quilting! Another Sunday, I think.
Janet gave me enough of the dragonfly blocks for two quilts, and I had already made one of them. These blocks are the ones with faces. It was fun to put together!

The blocks are adorable!

I chose this small floral for the sashing.

I tried lots of different stripes before choosing this one for the border.
Another charity quilt awaiting quilting.
Right now, I am working on a challenge for my Florida guild, 'Follow the Sun'. I must have had fifty fabrics out to make the background with. Here is what I came up with.

Background finished, I just have to make the foreground elements.
I like it so far!
Meanwhile, Mr Wazoo quietly quilts in his end of the studio, working on tee shirt quilts for a Florida customer. One is done, and he is doing the second one.

Panto: Pizzazz
The quilt I have been working on is waiting for some custom quilting. I finished the stitch in the ditch and the center pieced portion yesterday, and have since marked the quilting in the border. This customer makes beautiful hand embroidered quilts. If you have followed the blog for a while, you've seen her work before.
A bit of Christmas in July!

Oh yes, Molly would throw a snit fit if I didn't mention her makeover and show you how pretty she looks. She smells nice, too!

Now, back to the studio! Sunday Fun-Day isn't over yet!
