It has been a really busy week here at Wazoo. Mr Wazoo finished his cobblestone walkway repair and is taking a well deserved break. He even took a picture...with his feet in it. (What you don't see are the 37 other pictures he snapped because he always holds his finger on the button too long! I laugh every time I look at his phone's photos.
The way to tell if a guy is a hard worker? Shoes. Those are white sneakers.
While the man put his stone puzzle together, I finished some quilts.
Lauren finished her Seminole quilt from the evening guild quilt along!
Those colors are really jazzy!
I used a zig-zag panto to accentuate the angles in the various rows.
Quite a snazzy back, too. I also did the binding for her with this same fabric.
Have you seen those postcard sized patterns at the quilt shops? This is a quilt my customer made with one of those patterns. Easy, pretty and fun.
The panto is called cotton flowers
The back is an interesting color Grunge fabric.
Same customer, bigger project. I think this pattern is interesting because of the way your eye moves around the patterns of chain-like blocks. Great colors, too.
I used the Ikat pattern because it mimics some of the fabric prints.
Neutral Grunge is the same as the centers of the chain squares on the front.
This Quilt of Valor has such a simple pattern, I thought some gold stars would jazz it up a bit.

Unfortunately, I hate this stiff backing fabric. It doesn't get soft from washing either.
Our next-door neighbor had an aneurysm between his heart and his liver and had surgery last Friday to fix it. I thought a quilt for his recovery would be nice. The fabric is so soft and silky! I found it on a stop in Hiawassee at Mountain Quilts. It is one of the three yard quilts (I'm sure you've seen them in the shops, too) only I made it bigger. It turned out well.

I have had some kits from the evening guild for charity quilts for months, so I thought I would try to finish them for the meeting next Thursday. We get donations of fabric and then, figure out how to package kits for the members to make. It is a challenge when the stuff doesn't go together too well.
There are four of these moose panels. I paired the first two with a plaid border that is printed so wonky, it was impossible to get the lines straight. Somebody will like it.
Manly panto again
When the shop in Murphy closed They had a huge sale and I scored a bolt of this pinecone fabric half price. I also bought the same fabric with white background.
When I first saw this fabric combination, I thought it was yucky.
I'm happily surprised at how nice it looks. Yay for donated fabrics!
The panto is called Apple Leaves. Go figure...
Kind of stiff backing, but I think it will soften with washing.
Moose number two is the twin of the other one. The next two have the pinecones for the borders.
There are three more panels in the set of kits; horses, and two of Stonehenge. I'll have to think about those for a bit. Something to do tomorrow. It is a good feeling to be back at the sewing machine for a couple of days.
