productive week

It's been a good week, and I got a lot done. I made a couple of quilts for charity, quilted a couple of QOVs for a customer in Florida, and did some customer quilts here, too. Let's get started!

This was the first quilt made by the customer's granddaughter. I think she did a wonderful job, and should be happy with it.

Flower Power pantograph

The hedgehogs are adorable!

This quilt is for a toddler boy.

The panto is Dino-tracks

Great backing, too!

This was a hurry-up quilt for the customer's son's birthday. She said he has been asking for a flag quilt for his bed. This fits the bill!

The panto is Freedom. It has a lovely Stars and Stripes pattern.

A look at the back.

I love the fabrics in this customer quilt. Unfortunately for me, she's had them for a long time.

Panto: Alfresco in the peachy-pink shade thread. I was supposed to use light aqua, but I didn't have enough thread for a quilt this big.

The back is pieced from all the leftover fabrics.

Here are the QOVs from Tallahassee. The customer says there aren't long armers willing to do QOVs there. What a shame. They are 18 quilts behind for presentations and the vets are getting older, some dying before they are awarded a quilt. I told her to send me two and when she gets them back, send two more. I hope I can help them a bit with the back-log.

This is the first one. Great use of panels.

Panto:Simply Stars

Nice blue back shows off the quilting.

This one is a nice mix of different blocks.

Panto: Freedom

You really get a good idea what the pattern looks like from the blue back.
Mr Wazoo will get them sent back tomorrow.

Here are my projects for the week.

Mr W is cleaning the garage and found these. I don't remember who gave them to me, but they are old. Probably late 1800's. The construction is horrible! Flared corners on almost all of them and points right at the corners on others. No way to keep the points. I starched the daylights out of them and pressed them flat, then I squared them all to 6 1/2".

Sewn together with borders on, they don't look so bad. It will make an interesting wall hanging.
I may even hand quilt it!

My son sent me his recipe for sourdough bread (a three day odyssey) and I forged ahead making a loaf. He gave me some of his starter at Christmas and I have been feeding it right along. I have a pretty big jar of it now!

After all that work, this is the end result. It didn't get as big and round as his, but it is decent enough to eat.

Too many bubbles at the top. I'll do better next time. It is so good toasted; I've had it every morning since I made it. Mr Wazoo says it is pretty good and wants me to show him how to do all the steps. Haha...if only he knew how uncoordinated and messy I was.

I made this for the Heart to Heart group at guild. It has been quilted and bound, and is ready to go.

I love the bird fabric. It reminds me of Wisconsin.

I made this top yesterday. It is on the machine right now, about half quilted. It would be done but I had to pick out  about 15 inches of a row where the thread came out of the slot in the bobbin case. Rats!
I'll finish it tomorrow...

My daughter sent me this tiny birthday cake and some beautiful flowers. We thawed it today and sang Happy Birthday to me before having a little slice. Yummy! (except for the sprinkles...I don't know what flavor they are, but it isn't pleasant. I'd say...soap?! I just scraped them off.

Well, the Super Bowl just ended and all is well with the world. My friend Nancy in Texas must be doing a dance. I'm happy for you, Nancy!! Time for bed. Thanks for coming by.
