Drafting and stitching the four corner compasses was a fun challenge. |

Getting there is half the fun...
I am making great progress on the mariner's compass quilt. Tomorrow, it should be finished!

Work, work, work!!
I haven't posted because I have been doing the same quilt for two days now. It is a Judy Niemeyer mariner's compass quilt, and quite beautifully done. The stitch in the ditch took all of day one. Day two, I started the quilting in earnest. Today, it will be more of the same, quilting the prominent elements, and then adding the zinger bits and background fill. I think it will be another day to get all this done.
Mr Wazoo did another Anne quilt, and now I have five to do hand sewing on! That should keep me busy!
This is another batik quilt. I like the pattern. |

Mid year review
Over at Meadow Girl Designs blog, I was struck by her mid-year review of what she has accomplished so far in 2016. I decided to look back and see just what I have done, and I am gobsmacked by the result! Granted, having Mr Wazoo doing the pantograph quilts is a big help in that it frees my time up for custom work and making quilts of my own.
There were thirty two quilted projects from start to finish, twelve restoration/repairs, and thirty one custom quilted customer projects. I don't count pantograph customers because I only do the ones too big for Mr W's machine...king sized ones. I think I was busier than I thought!

When you don't have TV, you find other amusements. Mine was crewel embroidery and redwork. |
I did add red sashing to finish the quilt. |
My next serious project will be a quilt I have been wanting to make for years, and am just now ready to commit to. It has a load of applique, so it will take a while. You'll have to stay tuned for that one!
Now, I have to go back to work on a lovely Judy Niemeyer customer project!

It was an A-B Day!
My sister Anne is a prolific quilt maker like I am, and we always have fun looking for fabric and comparing and sharing patterns for quilts. She has decided to slow down on the quilting, and has bestowed on me a pile of lovely tops that only need quilting and binding. They are meant for charity use, so I give them to the homeless shelter. The director there says the quilts are prize possessions of the people who make the shelter their home while they get back on their feet.
Today was A-B day here at Wazoo, quilting Anne's tops and getting them ready for binding.Mr Wazoo quilted her guild challenge project, so both of us were all about Anne! There are many more to do, so I think tomorrow will be A-B-2 day!
In the afternoon, I quilted the sew-in project I made as well as my retreat project.

This must have been a fun one to put together!

I love the color combination on this one...and the pattern, too! (You know what a zig-zag fan I am) |
Mr Wazoo did a great job! |

Just a width if fabric with a simple border. The easiest kit I ever assembled! |
I did free motion swirls for the quilting
