Work, work, play!

Making progress on the quilt line, and having some fun at the end of the day, too. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday I will be able to post a picture of my zig zag quilt top! Plus, my husband finally made up his mind and we are getting him a Gammill of his own. It will be here July 17th and he is like a kid on Christmas Eve...
It may not look like much work, but consider this; I quilted three of the pieced flowers with the yellow centers quilt. I just didn't put up pictures of all of them, as they have identical quilting. My friend made them for her siblings using her mother's clothes. What a nice memory quilt. I have a Christmas quilt on the machine right now, but it isn't finished so you won't see it here.
This one is a king sized beauty! Took all day to do.

Quilt #1 from Mom's clothes. I did two more just like it.

Happy pumpkin quilt with dancing pumpkins quilting!

Tomorrow is Nifty Fifty sewing club and I plan to make headway on my nephew's quilt. I will be using the Off Track pattern again. Stay tuned, though, because it will be totally different from the first cheerfully colored one. Until then, happy quilting!

Customer quilts still thrill me!

I love my job! My customers are artists, and quilting for them is a pure pleasure. Here are some of last weeks quilts. Thanks, ladies!

June is off to a good start

I'm feeling pretty good about the progress I am making on my backlog of quilts for customers, as well as my growing pile of UFOs of my own. Lately, my husband is getting into the act, trying his hand at the longarm machine. Check out his work as well as the nifty antique quilt I repaired and quilted for a customer. It really looks old after washing!

These are charity quilts I made and quilted.

I made this and Tim quilted it.

This one, too!

I made this baby quilt for Tim's great niece, not here yet, but named Grace. Tim quilted it so we both can say we made it for her.

Here is a little quilt I made to try the 'tube' method of quilting.

This is the quilt I made with the leftover blocks from Alex's quilt. It was a fun exercise, and turned out well.

Here is the antique quilt before and after washing. Looks really antique now!

New quilter on the block

Well, it was inevitable; Tim decided to try his hand at the longarm. We had a lesson on Monday morning, and by 4PM he had quilted two charity quilts! He did a very nice job, too. Flat and without jerky places or pokies. I am so proud of him! The first two quilts are the ones he did (I pieced them :-) )
Then it was back to work for me. The Judy Niemier orange quilt belongs to a customer who always makes fun quilts. This one was challenging, but very enjoyable to work on. I love it!
I basted a quilt for someone who hand quilts, and did a panto on the 'fishy' comforter for another customer.
Tomorrow is quilt guild, and then it's back to work. Beats working outside in the 90 degree heat!

Yee hah.
