Quilting and beard growing progress

Another day over and three quilts in their bags and ready to go!
Mr Wazoo took a well deserved day off and worked in the yard. He does love to mess about with the plants and hardscape. He made a small patio sort of place where he will eventually have a big pot with something wonderful in it. This and some digging out and replanting took all day and made him very happy. He went off to bed at 8:00!!
I spent my day basting a quilt for hand quilting, custom quilting a smaller quilt and quilting an edge to edge pattern on a quilt too big for Mr Wazoo's table. Time marches on and we have to get these quilts done for the trip north. Frankly, I will be relieved when the exodus begins. We need a bit of a rest!
I hope you had a good day. It's been breezy and warm here, perfect for a short bike ride before work. Tomorrow will be just as nice. I had better get to bed and prepare for it!

Mr Wazoo made this. Looks a bit like a quilt block!

This quilt is made with the customer's father's ties.
I did this quilt over the weekend. Yup, I work Saturday and Sunday, too.

In the center block, she included a doily her Mom made.

Some of the quilting

I love the colors of this quilt!

The quilting is very organic to accent the fabrics. I used three different
variegated threads on the top.

Here is a look at the back, too.

Huge quilt too big for the 10 ft table. I did the panto as a favor to the gardener. Ha ha.

Hard to see, but a very nice design.

A little fuzz becoming visible around the edges...stay tuned!

Quilting fun!

Here at Wazoo we have been quilting our little butts off trying to satisfy the customers who go back to their northern homes for the Summer. Amid the chaos, I did the taxes myself this year with the help of Turbo Tax. Everyone said it was easy, but it still took two long days to do. I'm happy, though, because this year Uncle Sam owes us some money.
Mr Wazoo is starting a beard experiment. He hasn't shaved for about a week and his growth feels like the soft side of Velcro. It is so light colored, I can't see it from a distance yet. We'll see...if it looks like his hair it will be okay, but if there is a 'skunk-stripe' look - shave it off! You'll have to stay tuned to see any change in him. I have posted a photo of what he looked like while quilting yesterday.
Have a great day! I will be playing hooky tomorrow, taking a class to make a winding ways block. Big fun!
Mr Wazoo hard at work...growing a beard as we watch

Ever have the deja vu feeling? A group of quilters all made the same project. We quilted these.

This was the only custom one. I did the quilting.

This beauty was made by a mother and daughter over two generations

here's  a bit of the quilting. She didn't want it too dense

How about this Christmasy quilt!?

hand embroidered and custom quilted

Then, if just quilting wasn't enough...a commission for a tee
shirt quilt with the late husband's tees, shorts and fabric with snakes,
turtles, sports and dachshunds.  I managed to find all four in
my stash!!

I think that's enough for one day. I think you can see we really have been working hard and will continue to do so until everyone has their finished quilts and is happy. We love making you happy!

Better already...

I am feeling much better after Mr Wazoo did the Epley maneuver on my head two times today. Those pesky crystals must be going back where they belong so perhaps I'll get a good night's sleep and wake up normal. Or as close to normal as I ever am. Managed to do one quilt today after taking my medicine and before going to my evening guild. Resting quietly watching the Badgers play some awesome hoops.
Life is good.

Vertigo!!

Oh shoot!! Just when I need to be in high gear, I get vertigo. I had it once before when I went to Arizona to visit my daughter, and it was not pleasant. My head swims every time I turn it or look down, bend over or stand up. At least this time I haven't up-chucked. I took the drugs they gave me in Arizona, but am looking for an ear, nose and throat doctor to do the 'maneuvers' I got at the urgent care place in Arizona. That fixed me up, so I need to have it again. Not much quilting happening...I am too dizzy and unstable to operate the machine. Stay tuned for up-dates.

Even More finished class quilts!

Bernie sent me some more photos of the Magic Block class ladies finishing their quilt tops. Good job, girls! The quilts are all different and very beautiful. This is one motivated group. Here are the pictures to prove it.
Joyce's purple beauty

Diane said these colors were 'out-of-the-box' for her.

Judy D. thought small; I love the zinger frame fabric

Diane #2 had the brightest fabrics of the group...wonderful!

Some unconnected news bits

We had a blast of a weekend in Sunrise, Florida seeing Paul Simon and Sting in concert together! My daughter got us the tickets for Christmas, and we were stoked to go. The whole evening was awesome; they sang for two hours and 45 minutes without a break!! The weather was perfect, so we parked at a mall across the street from the place and walked over. Saved $30 for parking (yikes!) and got in some stairs and a whole lot of steps for my Fitbit.
Another great surprise, the gals at Holiday park in Englewood sent me some photos of their finished quilt tops! Yippee for you all to have them done! Mine is also done, just have to hand sew the binding down. It always makes me happy to see what students accomplish after class is done. This class of ladies is on fire!
Last, Something I finished yesterday. This was a ho hum quilt for a customer, until I did the quilting! I love it, now.
Now, I had better get to work...quilts to do and time is running out for the snowbirds.
I got the tee shirt with this logo

Paul gestures when he sings...it's funny cool.

Hey, he's getting older, but WOW, can he sing!
