A fruitful, Wazoo day

It was a rainy, gray day so I jumped right in and started quilting. The oriental quilt is for a customer. She made it for her brother who is getting married. Nice gift! I made the binding and have it sewn on and ready for the hand stitching.

Next, I finished the quilt for my nephew. Most of the hand sewing was done, so I sat down for a while and finished it up. You may recognize the pattern from a quilt I made last week called Off Track. It's a great pattern from Cluck, Cluck, Sew.

With a bit of time before I needed to start dinner, I made another block of the month for Craftsy trying to get caught up with the pack. Oh well, I am ready to do April now. HA! It isn't perfect, but good enough for a sample block.

Tomorrow, I will be tackling a tee shirt quilt I have in progress for another customer. The job is exciting and diverse...what's not to like?!

One week...only two quilts!

Wow! I have worked hard this week and finished the quilting on two lovely show quilts. The customer has been very patient waiting for me to have time to do the job, and I think she will be pleased. Both quilts are hand appliqued.The only fun thing I did was put the binding on the zig zag quilt and finish it up. On to the next! So many quilts...so little time.

Messing around after work...

Okay, remember this pile of fabric? Well, here is what I made with it. I only worked on it after quilting customer quilts for several days in a row. It took a while, but I like how it turned out.
The pattern is actually a tutorial on Crazy Mom Quilts blog. I wrote down the particulars and made it from there. Now, I just have to finish the customer quilt I am working on so I can quilt this one! Maybe Sunday... we'll see.

Work, work, play!

Making progress on the quilt line, and having some fun at the end of the day, too. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday I will be able to post a picture of my zig zag quilt top! Plus, my husband finally made up his mind and we are getting him a Gammill of his own. It will be here July 17th and he is like a kid on Christmas Eve...
It may not look like much work, but consider this; I quilted three of the pieced flowers with the yellow centers quilt. I just didn't put up pictures of all of them, as they have identical quilting. My friend made them for her siblings using her mother's clothes. What a nice memory quilt. I have a Christmas quilt on the machine right now, but it isn't finished so you won't see it here.
This one is a king sized beauty! Took all day to do.

Tomorrow is Nifty Fifty sewing club and I plan to make headway on my nephew's quilt. I will be using the Off Track pattern again. Stay tuned, though, because it will be totally different from the first cheerfully colored one. Until then, happy quilting!

June is off to a good start

I'm feeling pretty good about the progress I am making on my backlog of quilts for customers, as well as my growing pile of UFOs of my own. Lately, my husband is getting into the act, trying his hand at the longarm machine. Check out his work as well as the nifty antique quilt I repaired and quilted for a customer. It really looks old after washing!

This is the quilt I made with the leftover blocks from Alex's quilt. It was a fun exercise, and turned out well.
