We have been working on lots of quilts this week at Wazoo, and I even got a bit of sewing done. I joined a UFO group in my guild, and we listed 12 ufos (unfinished objects) to attempt to finish in 2017. The leader of the group picks a random number from the list, and we go to work. Number four for February on my list is a half done quilt of valor. I took a half day off quilting to get the blocks done and sew the top together. Its a scrappy QOV, using my red, white and blue fabrics and a flag panel I had on hand. Now, it needs quilting and binding, and I'm done! Yippee! And February hasn't even started.

I had a custom quilt on the frame the last time I blogged, and after four days, had it finished. The customer didn't want dense quilting, but did want the houses to pop, so I did mostly background fill to tamp down the puffy batt, and add definition to the elements. The whole quilt is so wonderful! I know this is a picture heavy post, but the blocks are just that cute.
Mr Wazoo stayed inside during the beautiful weather and completed these pretty quilts.

I love when a quilt from one of my students comes into the studio! This spring-like Garden Delight is really pretty! |

The design on this three fabric quilt is really interesting and looks like it would be fairly easy to do. Chalk up another 'must try' for my list! |

I like the color combination on this pinwheel quilt |

This modern looking quilt is in the latest favorite color combination; gray and yellow. The start is a nice foil to the large squares. |

I took a day from quilting to go to guild and give a talk about the judging process. After guild, I tried to get back to work, but ended up in Molly's chair where I fell asleep for at least an hour! Geezerhood has arrived, and I officially needed a nap. No problem...I take 'em when I can get 'em.
I have been working on a summertime quilt for the last couple of days, and it is so happy, I'd love to make it, too! I think it is the fabrics the maker used...all bright, cheerful prints and solids. Perfectly Summer. I should have it finished today, and will reveal the whole quilt in the next post. Here is a little teaser before I go to the studio and get busy.
