I am teaching a class on how to set a quilt on point and had to make my class samples. I thought you might like to see what Easy-On-Point looks like. You can't get much simpler than this! It should be a fun class for everyone, even the absolute beginner.

Back at work again!
I really have had the old nose to the grindstone this week, trying to keep current with the customer quilting. It is like laundry...just when you have it all done, there are socks in the hamper! So it is with customer quilts...they keep on coming. I am so grateful for the work in this slow economy, if any of the quilts are yours--Thank you! Here are a couple of quick pics of this week's work. Later, Susan

More visitors!
My daughter Amy and her fiance Peter came for a few days after they were in Orlando for a pre-deployment briefing. We had a great time seeing the sights and catching up on things, but now I am really having to hurry up and quilt! Amy is preparing to go to Iraq next month for her second tour there. We all wish her well.

Kids coming!
We will be having some fun company this week. My son and his wife are coming from Boston for a visit and my grandson from Wisconsin is coming, too. There will be swimming, sight seeing and going exploring since none of them have spent time in Florida before. Quilting will take a back seat, but I thought I would show you what I did last week. My customer made the embroidery blocks in a local class and added the other elements to make the quilt big enough for her bed. The quilting took three days, but I think it came out well. Enjoy! Susan

Week of fun
My sister came for a visit and we had loads of fun and good food (of course!) as well as some quality sewing time. She made a quilt for her neighborhood to raffle and I quilted it for her. We made quilts for charity, too, and I have some quilting to do!! The white quilt with applique leaves is a customer job that I liked very much. Enjoy while I get back to work! Susan

Commissioned baby quilt
I recently got a commission to replicate a baby quilt from the 60's for a customer whose daughter is now having a baby. The customer's mom made the quilt for her from a kit and gave it to her when she was expecting her daughter. It really is a cool idea to give the same quilt to the now grown and pregnant daughter for her baby. I made a couple of slight changes to make the kitties stand out a bit, and made the whole thing bigger per her request. I think it turned out pretty good considering I only had a 4X6 photo of the quilt to go by! Susan
