Rain, rain, rain...QUILT!!

Another foggy, rainy day here in the mountains. Perfect for work, if you can call it work! Sure, I have some days when I wish I didn't have to do customer stuff and could just sew something I want to try and lose myself in the process, but I need to work and am cutting back slowly to see how it goes. So today I worked.
The Nancy Mahoney quilt was off the machine and bound over the weekend. I'm sitting with it over my lap and legs as I write this! Pics tomorrow. Today, I quilted two Quilts of Valor and a small customer wall hanging. I have been working on the custom quilt, too, and started the 'real' quilting today after finishing the stitch in the ditch yesterday afternoon. Progress!
QOV number one was pretty and simple.

Per usual, Simply Stars. This looks so nice on most of the QOVs. That's why I chose it.

Nice backing. I hadn't seen this fabric before. I like it.

QOV number two is a wowser! The quilter is from Tallahassee, FL.

See? Simply Stars is perfect again!

Starry backing to match.

This is the little wall quilt. It looks kind of dark here.

This customer has done three other quilts with these fabrics, and always asks for  the panto Little Bird. Here it is again!

See little bird on the backing? They show up better here.

I'm half done with the big carpenter's star's pointy parts. All that blank background is next.
I'll be thinking about what to do there in my sleep!

It is a bit intimidating to think about the sea of space around the star.

This multiple panel quilt is next to be done. It is outdoor scenes in the snow.

I'm thinking of these snowflakes for the quilting.
Tomorrow, I will be back in the studio and having a good time. A customer is coming first thing with a quilt, and I'll be busy at the machines after that. I do take a few minutes after work for fun. Today, I made some more spiderweb block parts! If I keep making them, by this time next year I should have a quilt! ha ha ha. Fun with scraps...what could be better?

Finishing up a few things

I took a couple of days to rest and get my routine adjusted a bit. There retreat really drained my energy, and then, we added the 'spring ahead' of daylight savings to fool my body even more. I don't know about you, but I'm tired!
Mr Wazoo and I took a trip to Chattanooga to rescue Big Bernina, and she is home and happily sewing without the boing-boing noise. They also upgraded the software, and I think she's got a bit of giddy-up as well! I'm happy about that. So happy I was able to finish the top for the Nancy Mahoney class quilt. It is on the Millie and needs one row to be done.

I'll show you the finished quilt when I have the quilting done and the binding sewn on.
I made another 2-3-2-6 quilt at the retreat and also finished the quilting and added the binding yesterday. Last night, Idid the hand sewing, and its ready for donation.

I got the fabrics at the retreat because I didn't take anything to sew but the strip quilt.
That one is going to take a while to do. It is slow going, but relaxing to do.

I used one of the free patterns I got when I upgraded my Quilt Path for the quilting.
I don't remember the name, but it has an oriental flavor with its double clam shell design.
This backing fabric is from my stash. I think it is beautiful, and completes the quilt nicely. The binding I used is gold color. Perfect for both sides of the quilt.

Well, I need to get myself ready for a doctor appointment for a check up. When I get home, it will be nose to the grindstone and back to the work of the day. Stay well, friends, and quilt on.
