I finished all the paperwork for the show, and we have just to get the final financials, and it will be history. I will not be chairing the next show, but rather turning my attention to other guild duties while keeping on with work.
Last week, I taught my favorite beginner quilt to a group in Ellijay, and we all had a good time together. I prepped my quilts before going, and finished them when I got home!
I sew the parts, and show how it is done at the class. |
I prepped two projects to demonstrate how different the quilts can look depending on their fabric choices. |
Cat quilt number one is a busy one, for sure. The cats are crazy looking, so I'm sure some kid will love it. |
A sunny back |
The butterfly quilt is really pretty and just needs to be quilted and finished. |
More Quilts of Valor were delivered, and I have them finished and returned, too.
The local QOV group will be having another group presentation in November, and I hope to go and see some of the quilts I helped with be awarded! |
Customer quilts keep on coming, and here are the ones I finished this week.
My customers are getting ready for Christmas, making holiday quilts now so they will be done before the company arrives! |
The pattern in this one had maple leaves, so I used the panto: Swirling Maples |
I especially like the backing fabric. |
This bright pastel quilt is a gift. |
Panto: Frolic |
Grinchy quilt for Christmas! |
Panto: Let it Snow. I used lime green thread, too! |
Believe it or not, this is a baby quilt! The parents requested this bear and the nursery is gray. Hmmmm.... |
Panto: Wandering bears |
Grandma knows what babies like! This wonderful woodland flannel on the back adds some color and softness. |
This is a cute door hanging, ready to greet guests. |
Panto: Let it Snow in Gold Glide thread for a bit of sparkle. |
Mr Wazoo was forced to come inside one day this week due to heavy rain. He grumbled his way through this customer project until the sun re-emerged and set him free. |
Panto: Brocade |
I did this giant dinosaur quilt for a boy getting a bigger bed. His Grandma did a wonderful job with the setting for the panel. |
Panto: African Samba |
I love lime green... |
I have been working on this quilt just for fun, and have all but the last border on it. I tran out of the fabric I really want for that border, so it has come to a halt until I can venture over the mountain and get some more. I did get the backing at the local shop while shopping for the fabric for my grandson's Halloween costume. Just another project to do that has a looming deadline. We'll get there...
I don't have a picture with the second border on. I will get one today and post it later.
My son made the form for the costume, and covered it with muslin. I am making the furry costume that goes over this form. You can just see little Dechen's feet under the character. It will be Totoro, from the film My Friend Totoro, a Japanese movie that is worth a viewing for adults as well as kids.

The trees are finally changing their colors for Fall, and the temperatures have also dropped. We are sleeping with the window open and loving the fresh air! Mr W has been busy getting the gardens mulched, cut back and ready for the cold to come. Time flies faster these days, I guess its because we are getting closer to the end of our time and there just doesn't seem to be enough of it to get everything done that we want to do. I have to get busy and start work for the day! Let's go!
Some leaves are bright red, but most are dull tans and golds. |
The dogwood is red and has the little berries all over it, too. |
