Yesterday was consumed by a really large quilt. I started quilting at 9:45 and finished up at 4:00 in the afternoon! These quilts give me time to do other things while the long rows chug along on Millie. I began compiling kits to take with me to Texas for future quilts. I have two bagged up and another one with the fabrics selected, but not cut done into useable pieces. I hope to have at least five to choose from once I get there.
Here is the finished quilt in all its colorful glory!
Panto: Big Splat
Here is the rest of the quilt, hanging off the backside of the machine!
106 x 113"
The backing is this graffiti print. The entire quilt is a happy, bright king sized beauty.
Two quilt kits made and bagged with the directions included in the bags
I need to cut fat quarters from these blue fabrics for the next kit. The quilt pattern is in the magazine on top of the pile.
The next quilt is loaded, but I will not be working on it very much today. I am off to get a haircut and then visit with a friend I haven't seen in months because of Covid. We have had both vaccine doses and it is a couple of weeks later, so I figure I will be safe there. Tomorrow, I have an early doctor appointment, and then I will be visiting another friend to get a demonstration of her Hand Quilter longarm machine. Work will be on the back burner for a couple of days.
A lady from the evening guild left some quilt tops she had languishing in a closet at the quilt shop for me. I picked this one to start with, adding a border to make it bigger and then quilting and donating to Family Connection. I auditioned fabrics from my stash until I settled on this blue, pink and brown floral. Another project to add to the pile.
I'll get to it someday...
